so cute! nice!

(+1)

I found a bug and got stuck in the floor using the bouncy blobs lol, but anyways...this is such a cool concept for a platformer

(1 edit) (+4)

This is a super cool game! For extra challenge, I managed to beat it without ever using the bouncy blobs. One of the levels (19.tscn in the source code) is very difficult to do without the blobs. You have to jump down between the platforms to get to the other pair of platforms.

thanks for this great game.

bad video.bad voice.

(+4)

I have looked through your earlier comments, and a lot of your comments are negative. Why can't you just be nice?

(-4)

I am the bad one so that the other one can be better.

(+2)

that isn't how constructive criticism works, dude

yeah I'm from India voice is messedup when I talk english trying to do better

(-4)

You don't have to talk in the videos.

(+1)

The game looks really, really good!

Also there's a space slime lad so those are extra points from me!
Probably my favorite game from the jam!

Me?

(+1)

The controls are difficult to understand, but the game is exellent.

(+1)

Really cool! :D

(+1)

Great game! I was able to play it all the way to the end! Took me a few levels to realize you can ground pound the slimes. The last level was the hardest; but also the most rewarding. Thanks for a great experience!

(+2)

I was about to quit the four-platform level with two slimes when I read this comment. THANK YOU for posting this! I didn't know about this mechanic.

(+1)

Really loving this puzzle game. This needs to be a mobile game!!!!

(+1)

Very impressive for the time given.

(+1)

gem xam lol

This was an excellent little precision-puzzle-platformer to play with my morning coffee. Very complete experience for a jam game. Thanks for making it :)

Nothing beats morning coffee... glad you enjoyed, and thanks for playing!

(+1)

Nice game!

(1 edit) (+1)

for some reason I can move the player by clicking volume down on my laptop

and does the game go forever

That's weird... welp, thanks for reporting, I'll look into it!

Also, the game has about 25 stages.

(+1)

I love how simple the mechanics are but how there's still a lot of variation. Well done! You could definitely turn this into a bigger game.

I found one bug though. In the level with the ground pound instructions, I got stuck after landing on the edge of the lower platform. Walking and jumping stopped working and I had to start over from the beginning.

By the way, showing level numbers would make it easier to report bugs and give more specific feedback. I understand that not showing them is a stylistic choice but you could just put the number on one tile in each level so it would fit the style you're going for.

(+1)

Hey, thanks!

We are actually really looking into turning this one into a bigger game. The simplicity and lack of long texts reaaaaaaaaaally help a ton.

The stage number addition would be plus, I agree... also, thanks for the details on the bug, I was just going to start looking into it. Once again, thanks for playing and for the feedback!

nice

Great game, I like the mechanics and the input felt great, very enjoyable to play. I'll say the one button limitation only slightly holds this game's controls back, as I frustratingly ground pounded when I didn't mean to enough times to cause me to take a break from this otherwise fantastic gem. Good work, I look forward to playing whatever you create next!

Thanks, glad you and interested in future games! We are always looking to get a bit better with each game.

About the controls, I understand your point: while looking some people play, controlling the character became a struggle here and there haha

Not sure how to attack this problem, however... I mean, having only one button is part of the idea of the game. Well, that's a problem for the future, I suppose. Anyway, thanks again!

fun game with one button

(+1)

Was a fun game. The difficulty curve was pleasant and you still had quite a lot of control using only one button. Made it feel nice.

Also, I like that you have to ability to wrap around corners during jumps when you are jumping at the correct timing. Really satisfying thing to pull of. Was able to complete the final level without touching the bottom left island at all

Really a great game,I hope more people can experience it,Can I translate and port it to Android platform? Of course, he has your original information, itch address, and it is free

Great game! Interesting movement mechanics!

(+2)(-1)

really a great game, i had a fun time playing it and a some unic rage moments hahaaha love the content and the style, everything is made with great design!

(+1)

This is Sooper Dope (TM)

(+2)

How rare is the amogus character? I had it for a moment before the first level.

(+1)

There's about 1% of chance for they to appear :) Once you move, the character goes back to normal.

This video was supposed to be a compilation but there was so much content and challenge that it ended up as a standalone video! Well done! Challenging enough to make me lose it a bit lol

Amazing game Dude! This is a great game.

very good!!

(1 edit)

I you press the button multiple times on a ledge the game freezes. Other than that its a good game.

Very enjoyable one button game, art is cute and simple, movement challenging without being frustrating, a really great jam entry!

Wow, awesome game!  Having only one button to do different things based on context didn't feel like a frustrating limitation at all, well done on leaning into the spirit of this game jam.  Overall felt quite polished with the art and sound.

(+2)

Really fun game with nice mechanics. It makes me want to participate in a jam similar to this one. We wrote a review for it here if you want to check it out: https://www.mlstudios.net/post/starcatcher-gameplay-and-review

Keep up the great work!

Wow, thanks! Very happy with the score! Also, thanks for the compliments and feedback, REALLY appreaciate them!

Man, this game is amazing!

A small big bug tough: there is a level that has two islands up and two down, in simetry. The inferior islands have spikes on the inferior side. This level has two of those bouncy slimes, one up and one down to let the player change between the platforms, but at some point the slimes just decided to have a walk to somewhere else and got out of the screen. I was still able to complete the level without them, though it was a little more complicated to switch between the inferior and superior islands.

Thanks man!

I just fixed this bug haha it seems it was quite common. Thanks for pointing it out, and I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

(+1)

could you release the source as per the Jam rules?

Hey, didn't find that rule on the jam page, did it was mentioned on Discord?

Anyway, the source code is now available on the downloads!

(+1)

Very cool game, loved it. Just a small problem, sometimes the little blobs that the player uses to jump fall off the map and do not respawn, so you can lose all your progress. The art and the music are very nice.

My bad, just fixed it. Thanks for playing and pointing this out!

(+1)

This is really well done. Great art, animation, music, and level design. It reminded of Jump King, with how precise some jumps need to be. I was also surprised by how many levels there were. That last level is almost evil with the precision required.

Thanks for playing, glad to know you enjoyed it so much!

Just pushed an update that makes the last level a bit more enjoyable. It indeed was quite frustrating, should've tested more hahaha

(+1)

Nice game! But i can't be able to  play after 4 levels! Art is quite good and music also fits it and character movements are smooth to:)

Dang, did you find a bug?

Also, thanks a lot for the feedback, really appreciate it (specially since I'm still practicing pixel art 🙂)!

I thinks it is better if it have more keys to operate cuz i can't do jump  onto the other platform.
