How to play:

  • The entire game is played by using only a single button, X:
    • Tap once to aim
    • Tap again to select the power
    • You can swing while in mid-air!
    • If you are playing on mobile devices: Instead of pressing X, you just need to touch the screen.
  • Press R to restart the current level.
There's also a reset button on the bottom right.

About

Weird golf with only 3 swings!

Made (barely) under three hours for the Trijam 256 (Feb/2024). Theme was "Only three".

Among the ideas that I had, one of them was for a golf game where you could swing only three times. But during the planning I noticed it could be difficult implementing different level heights on such a short time... so I changed the camera, and it worked much better!

The game also uses only three colors, for extra flavor. Using only one button for the controls was mainly to keep me from overcomplicating things.

Also, Godot's RigidBody2d and paper prototyping were the saviors while making this game.

Inspirations: Golf games in general, I guess. Possibly there already exists a game that has the same idea as this one though...

Hey there, happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing it too 🙂

I have no plans for adding a level editor, but I already had sketched some extra levels during the jam, so I just added them. Now there's a Level Select button as well.

Those new levels are a bit harder, so I hope it takes a while for you to beat them haha

In case you have any other suggestions or ideas, feel free to point them out. Thanks again for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed playing!

I somehow first tried all of these except for the one where you start above the flag. Great game, I love it.

Amazing !

Amazing how intuitiv the controls are. I played it on the phone, where tapping is even more natural. Unfortunately it has no R Button, as sometimes the game would not reset after the 3rd swing.

Hi, glad you enjoyed it!

Truth be told, I didn't even know it was possible to play on mobile hahaha

It wasn't too difficult to implement, so I added a retry button that will solve this problem. Thanks once again for playing and leaving some feedback!

I realy realy like how the aiming system works, it is good and effective, and also raises the bar for skills, pretty good game overall :)
